Audubon PTA Fundraising Overview 2020-2021

Welcome to a new school year (in more ways than one)!

Whether you are a new or returning family to the Audubon community, your child’s learning environment and school experience is greatly enhanced by programs, services and events sponsored exclusively with Audubon PTA funds.  All funds are allocated with an annual budget/planning cycle to support our school.  In addition to direct classroom support, the majority of funds support consistent access to two of our school’s most treasured learning environments - the School Library and the Technology Lab, for which personnel resources are not fully funded by the SMFC School District.  Even during these uncertain times, students will benefit from weekly reading hours with our Librarian and have access to our technology aid (teachers and students alike).  Without direct donation funding, our school could not support the personnel resources necessary to support these positions (and others).

Additional PTA sponsored programs, services and events are listed in the table below:

To fund these programs, services and events, the primary direct donation opportunity is held in the Fall; last year’s suggested donation amount was $400 per student.  We realize many of our annual PTA sponsored events likely won’t happen this year.  However, your PTA donation will allow us to continue to fund Audubon’s  many PTA sponsored services, programs, and community building events.  As such, we have reduced the suggested donation to $250 per student for the 2020-2021 school year.

There are also Employer Matching programs to support our school. Many organizations have corporate giving programs to match employee donations or volunteer hours in support of school activities. If you are unsure if your employer matches or how to maximize your donation, please check with your HR administrator (e.g. - VISA triple matches on Giving Tuesday).  2019-2020 matching funds were received from: Abbvie; Adobe; Airbnb; Apple; Applied Materials; Bristol Myers Squibb; Dodge and Cox; eBay; Electronic Arts; Eventwright; Fact Set Research; Franklin Templeton; Gainsight Inc.; Genentech; Google; Hillspire; HP; Infosys limited; Intuit; LinkedIn; Medidata Solutions; Microsoft; Neiman Marcus; Netflix; Oath; Oracle; Pearson; PG&E; Philips; Pixar; Play Academy After School; Sage Publishing; Salesforce; Sanofi; SIE; Sony; Sutter Health; Synopsis; Thermo Fisher; Toshiba; United Way; US Bank; Visa; Wells Fargo; Workday, and others.

Throughout the year, the PTA may promote additional opportunities to support our school and build community such as “restaurant night” fundraisers, spirit wear merchandise, Amazon Smile, BoxTops for Education, and others.  These events are designed to put the “fun” in fundraising while contributing nominally to PTA funds, however the most significant direct impact you can make to our school will be with your direct donation contribution in the Fall.

I look forward to an exciting, albeit different, year!  Please feel free to contact me with any suggestions or concerns.
