MUSIC FOR MINORS
Music for Minors
Music for Minors (MFM) is a fantastic program that SMFCSD/Ed Foundation helps fund to provide every student at Audubon a chance to engage in weekly music class. Students in TK through 5th grade learn rhythm, repetition and patterns in Music for Minors. This year, our fifth graders are learning how to sing and play various instruments such as clarinet, flute, trumpet and violin.
A Note from Mr. Garriss:
Dear Audubon Families,
I am sending this communication separately from my regular family communication in order to bring to your attention the importance of completing this permission waiver if you would like for your child to continue participating in music classes.
SMFCSD has a longstanding contract with Music For Minors, and they provide skilled music educators to elementary schools each week. We are unable to continue to have SMFCSD staff accompanying students to Music for Minors classes. Music classes will not be required, but families will continue to have the option for their child to voluntarily participate in Music for Minors class. Full details can be reviewed here.
In order for your student to continue participating in Music for Minors, you must complete the Music for Minors Permission Waiver. Students who do not have a waiver will not be able to participate in their music classes.
Best regards,
Doug Garriss
