Audubon Knowledge-Stem Fair

🚀 Audubon’s 11th Annual STEM & Knowledge Fair!

Get your thinking caps ready! This year, you can be a scientist, an engineer, or even a teacher by sharing something you are an expert on!

When is it? Thursday, April 9th, 2026

Where is it? In the MPR

How do I join? Register here by March 26, 2026.

💡 Two Ways to Participate

  1. STEM Project: Solve a problem or answer a question using an experiment.
  2. Knowledge Fair Project: Be the expert! Choose any topic you love—like history, animals, space, or art—and teach others about it. (Cool idea suggestion list below)

📝 How to Make Your Project

Step 1: Pick Your Topic

Think of something you are curious about. Make sure your project is safe and that an adult helps you.

Step 2: Plan Your Project

  • For STEM (Science & Math): Use the "Scientific Method":
    • Goal: What are you trying to find out?
    • Guess: What do you think will happen?
    • Stuff You Need: List your materials.
    • Steps: What did you do first, second, and third?
    • What Happened: What did you see or measure?
    • What You Learned: Was your guess right?
  • For Knowledge Fair (Share What You Know):
    • Your Topic: What is your favorite thing to talk about?
    • Fun Facts: Find 5-10 cool things to share about your topic.
    • Photos or Drawings: Collect pictures that show what you are talking about.
    • The "Why": Tell everyone why this topic is so special to you!

Step 3: Make Your Poster Board

  • Use a tri-fold board (the kind that stands up by itself).
  • Put your name and grade on the front.
  • Use bright colors, big titles, and lots of pictures!
  • If you are in TK, Kindergarten, or 1st Grade, a grown-up can help you write. If you are in 2nd-5th Grade, try to do the writing yourself!

🤔 Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I have to talk in front of everyone? It is optional!  All participants will drop off your project in the morning, and people will walk around to look at it during the day.  However, we will have a dedicated time after school for students who are interested in presenting their project live.
  • Will there be winners? No, this isn't a contest. Everyone who participates gets a special award to celebrate their hard work!
  • Can I change my mind? Yes! You can sign up now and decide on your final topic later.
  • What can I bring? You can bring your poster and any safe equipment or items that fit on the table in front of your board.
