PTA Programs/Events Overview

The Audubon PTA sponsors many programs and events.

Audubon PTA Sponsored Programs

Art in Action - Monthly art curriculum for all students, led in each classroom by our volunteer parent Art Docents and Docent Assistants.

Choir - An award-winning after school program for students in 3^rd-5^th grade, directed by our own 3^rd Grade Teacher Mrs. Cheever.

Founder’s Day - A celebration of the founding of the PTA and a special recognition of individuals who have made a significant ‘above and beyond’ contribution to the welfare of our children at Audubon.

Grade Level Programs - PTA sponsors grade level programs by providing $5/student. Programs are organized by teachers and may include field trips or special programs for an one or more grade levels.

Picture Day - Individual and class photographs taken for yearbook and purchase.

Playworks - Recess program designed to create a place for every kid on the playground to feel included, be active, and build valuable social and emotional skills.

Reflections Art Program - A nationally acclaimed student recognition program to encourage artistic creativity in the classroom and at home.

Scholastic Book Fair - Books are sold during lunch and after school, giving children access to new books helping to create excitement for reading.

Science Fair - Enables students at all grade levels to explore their scientific curiosity and learn more about the process of developing an experiment and presenting their results.

Scripps Spelling Bee - A national program to help students improve their spelling, increase their vocabularies, learn concepts and develop correct English usage that will help them all their lives. At Audubon we have a Junior Bee for 1^st-2^nd graders and the Scripps Bee for 3^rd-5^thgraders.

Soul Shoppe Workshops - Grade-level workshops designed to reach every student with social-emotional learning tools as well as school wide assemblies designed to build safe, fun and bully-free school cultures.

The Writing Notebook - A published compilation of original stories and essays by 4^th and 5^th graders.

Yearbook - A annual book available for purchase of photographs and memories from the school year.

Audubon PTA Sponsored Events

5th Grade Promotion Activities (pool party, promotion, brunch) - End of school activities including pool party, promotion ceremony materials, post ceremony brunch and gift to Audubon from the 5th grade class.

Back to/End of School Social - Evening community events held at the beginning and end of the school year. Includes food, music and other special activities.

Bike/Walk to School - School district sponsored days during the year to encourage travel to school by walking or biking or rolling.

Family Game Night - Evening community event for families and friends to enjoy playing games and socializing with friends.

Annual Giving Fundraiser - Direct donation fundraiser. This fundraiser raises the majority of the funds the PTA needs to support and sponsor new and ongoing programs, events and services for our school.

Sweetheart Dance - Evening community event with music, food and fun activities for children and the special adults in their life. Benefits 5th Grade Promotion activities.

Staff Appreciation Events - Special activities (luncheons, appreciation week) throughout the year to show appreciation to our wonderful Audubon Staff.

VIP Breakfast - Breakfast community event celebrating our kids and their special person. Hosted by Audubon Moms and Dads.

Volunteer Appreciation Coffee - Event held at the end of the year to recognize the contributions of the many classroom and school-wide volunteers that help make our school so special.

Welcome Back Coffee - Event held on the first day of school. An opportunity for parents to meet and connect with other members of our school community.
